TREND REPORT PFW

Here are the stand-out looks from the Paris S/S19 shows, prepare to be awed and inspired.

Retro Riot

Parisian hair is rarely described as rebellious, but this season Miu Miu broke the mold and sent models down the runway with retro tough girl manes. Mini fringes, and choppy ends inspired by the late 60’s and early 70’s, made for a new version of Parisian cool.

Tip…

To keep a choppy cut looking it’s best it’s important to have good ends. The Caviar4 Hair Serum, seals the hair cuticle illuminating the frizz associated with split ends.

Wet & Wonderful

Looks like slick ‘wet’ hair is here to stay, and at Saint Laurent, this style was low maintenance and high impact. Tapping into the effortlessly chic, Parisian nonchalance we’ve come accustomed to; hair looked like models had just stepped out of the shower, rather than painstakingly combed their hair to perfection like the incarnations we’ve seen during past seasons.

Tip…

Although wet hair looks like it’s freshly washed, it isn’t and gels tend to be the go to styling product to achieve this vinyl wet effect. Thoroughly removing product build-up from your hair and scalp ensures it stays as healthy as possible, so invest in a deeply clarifying shampoo such as the Crystalisse Shampoo.

Blunt bobs

The bob is synonymous with Parisian style, so it came as no surprise that this French staple hit the runway more than once. At Stella McCartney models wore theirs with a deep centre parting, while at Acne Studios bobs were worn with an abundance of texture. What these incarnations all had in common were the ultra blunt ends, which made the traditional bob both modern and covetable.

Tip…

Bobs can look lackluster on finer hair types, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to rock this look. To boost volume when styling spritz the Aquavol Leave in Therapy, a few centimeters from the scalp for an instant root lift.

Romantic Pony

To mirror the beautiful ethereal dresses at Elie Saab, he chose an equally pretty and whimsical undone pony to complete the look. Hair was volumous and waved, worn back at the crown and tied at the nape of the neck allowing waves to cascade down the back, or worn with an undefined parting with romantic tendrils on either side of the face.

Tip…

To nail an ethereal style, creating a soft glow on the hair is key. After styling smooth the Multi-tasking 360 Styling Hair Cream, over your tresses allowing the ceramides to smooth hair and create a more lustrous finish.
